Class or Grade Level:    1

Subject:      Mathematics

Time Allotment: 3 10 minute sessions

Objectives:  The student will:

                   Use a bookmark to go to the AAA Math site.

                   Read the Learn and Practice sections.

                   Complete the three games that test this skill.

 

Materials/ Resources:

Internet computers

Record sheet for each student

 

Standards:

Technology Course of Study:

Demonstrate optimal posture and position at the computer workstation.

Use input, output, and storage devices to successfully operate computers, VCRs, audiotapes, and other technologies.

Use developmentally appropriate keyboard techniques.

Use a variety of media and technology resources for directed and independent learning activities across the curriculum.

Use technology resources for problem solving.

Math Course of Study:

Demonstrate an understanding of addition and subtraction.

Develop vocabulary associated with addition and subtraction.

Demonstrate oral and written proficiency in basic addition facts of sums to 10 and in the corresponding basic subtraction facts.

 

Procedures:        

1.       The student will be assigned 3 10 minute computer session during the week.

2.       The student will take record sheet from folder and take it with them to the computer.

3.       The student will use the bookmark or favorite link to get the AAA Math site.

4.       The student will read the Learn and Practice sections.

5.       The student will complete one game—Countdown, Give Me Time, and 20 Questions during each 10 minute session.

6.       The student will record his/her score on each game on the record sheet and return record sheet to class folder.

 

Assessment:

The teacher will collect record sheets from class folder at the end of the week.  Student progress will be monitored as this activity continues throughout the school year.  If a student scores very low, the teacher will get them to repeat that section.
